Leadership Plus is a community organisation that promotes people with disabilities as leaders. We_undertake a range of initiatives including:
In addition to these initiatives we are running a Disability Leadership Roundtable Series over the coming twelve months. The series is designed to stimulate discussion on selected controversial themes. The theme for Roundtable 2 is:
“LEADERSHIP IN THE DISABILITY RIGHTS MOVEMENT AND THE DISABILITY SERVICES SECTOR. WHAT ROLE SHOULD PEOPLE WITH OR WITHOUT A DISABILITY PLAY IN THAT LEADERSHIP?
HOW CAN PHILANTHROPIC FUNDING POLICIES SUPPORT THIS?”
SPEAKERS:
The panel will comprise persons from philanthropy, the disability rights movement and a disability service provider peak body.
Fiona Smith, Chairperson, Equal Opportunity Commission Victoria and the Business Licensing Authority will provide a summary/reflection on the outcomes of the session.
