Leadership Training

‘Leadership Training' is a course that features role-playing, group discussion, hands-on activities and guest speakers.
Who can take the course?
Anyone who is at least 18 years old with a disability. Students should have a way to communicate. Reading and writing skills are not needed.
When?
Thursday 28 th July, 10 - 3 and
Thursday 4 th August, 10 – 3

What is Leadership Plus About?
Leadership Plus is a Victorian community organization and a project of Action for Community Living. We promote people with disabilities as leaders. Our focus is on civic participation and inclusion as citizens in Australian society. Leadership Plus and DASSI are working together in promoting the Leadership Training course a 2 day introductory course.
What is DASSI?
DASSI was established in 1984 by a group of people with disabilities to provide one to one support wherever it is required for people to live, work and participate in their communities. DASSI's vision is of a world where human difference is anticipated, celebrated and where each person will be a valued citizen, seizing opportunities, achieving goals and dreams, according to personal choice, regardless of personal support needs.
What will I learn?

How long is the course?
The course is two days long. Each day of the training course is from 10.00 in the morning until 3.00 in the afternoon with a 1 hour lunch break and two fifteen minute tea breaks.
How do I register for the ‘Leadership Training' Course?
To register for the course, please fill out an application form and send it back to the Leadership Plus office. Someone from the Leadership Plus office will telephone you to talk about your application to take the course.
What are the costs to take the ‘Leadership Training' course?
There are no costs to take the course. Any transport costs and course materials will be paid for. Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea will be provided.
What are the participant's responsibilities?
As a participant of this course you must be able to take time off from work. Be prepared to learn, have fun, make some new friends and participate in some group discussions!
