INTRODUCTION
Leadership Plus is a Victorian community organisation and a project of Action for Community Living. We promote people with disabilities as leaders. Our focus is on civic participation and inclusion as citizens in Australian society.
We have been operating with paid staff since November 2003. Our first Strategic and Implementation Plan 2004 has formed the basis for the development of this document.
This Strategic Plan relates to calendar year 2005 and is the second phase of a three-phase establishment period for Leadership Plus.
STATUS OF THE STRATEGIC AND IMPLEMEMTATION PLAN
This document is the second such plan for Leadership Plus and builds on the first plan developed and ratified in December 2003. This document has been agreed to by the Project Management Group. As the document is refined and added to, further development of each of the Initiatives will occurs.
THE INITIATIVES
The Initiatives
comprise the programs and work of Leadership Plus in its second year. Some
of them are one-off pieces of work, while others have become the programs
of Leadership Plus. Each Initiative requires developmental work outlining
in detail:
- How they will be resourced.
- Who will resource them.
- What they will achieve.
- The timeframe needed.
- How they will be evaluated.
_If they are not achievable within the establishment
budget of Leadership Plus, then funders/sponsors will _be
identified, and negotiations undertaken.
FUNDING
Our infrastructure costs have been funded to date by The Myer Foundation, Stegley Foundation, Reichstein Foundation, Helen MacPherson Smith Trust and the The Jack Brockhoff Foundation. This funding covers our budgeted costs of $175,000 until May 2005. We are seeking $14,600 for June 2005 and $175,000 for the financial year 2005-2006, a total of $189,600.
SCOPE
The following tables relate to the Initiatives and Strategies in each of the Strategic Objectives. All these Initiatives will be undertaken in 2005. Those that run into Stage 3 (2006) will be included in the Strategic Plan for that period.
The column headed 'Funders/Partners' often refers to the Initiatives being 'Internal & Current Funders'. This means that the funding of the Initiative is budgeted for, or planned to be budgeted for in our current budget. Where there are additional costs anticipated, they are also noted in this coumn.
